On 7 of October 2024, Secretary-General Ignacio Tirado was welcomed by the Externado University of Colombia, in the context of the Celebratory Conference organized by their Law Faculty for the 30th anniversary of the Unidroit Principles on International Commercial Contracts. The visit began with a discussion on several UNIDROIT instruments, including Cultural Property, the Cape Town Convention, Digital Assets and Private Law, the Legal Guide on Contract Farming, and on Agricultural Land Investment Contracts, as well as current ongoing projects in the Unidroit Work Programme, with a delegation composed of members of the Faculty of Cultural Heritage, the Department of Intellectual Property, and the Faculty of Law (Business and Commercial Law Departments). Subsequently, the Secretary-General and the Dean of the Law Faculty Emilssen González de Cancino undersigned a Memorandum of Understanding to underscore and strengthen the existing close ties and cooperation shared between the Institute and the University.
