On 29 November 2024, UNIDROIT Legal Consultant Ms Theodora Kostoula participated in the 7th International Forum on Computational Law: Data Governance and Artificial Intelligence Legislation, organised by Tsinghua University in Beijing, People’s Republic of China. The conference focused on the legal challenges created by the recent surge in technological developments, and was attended by hundreds of stakeholders, including government officials, legislators, judges and practitioners in person and online.
Ms Kostoula participated in the panel on Global Perspectives on Computational Law and presented on the UNIDROIT Principles on Digital Assets and Private Law and the harmonising role of UNIDROIT. The presentation was commented by Professors Xiong Bingwan Renmin (University of China) and Jin Jing (China University of Political Science and Law) who acted as discussants.
The session was opened by Professor Shen Weixing (Tsinghua University) and featured presentations by academics, including: Philip Howard (Oxford University, UK), Christiane Wendehorst (University of Vienna, Austria), Salomé Viljoen (University of Michigan, USA), Eliza Mik (Chinese University of Hong Kong), Zhang Xin (University of International Business and Economics, China), Luca Belli (Fundação Getulio Vargas, Brazil) and Václav Janeček (University of Bristol, UK).
