On 11 September 2024, UNIDROIT Legal Officer Ms Myrte Thijssen delivered a keynote speech at the 2024 edition of the international SOLAIR Conference in Prague, organised primarily by the Institute of State and Law of the Czech Academy of Sciences in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, with UNIDROIT as one of the supporting partners.
The event brought together participants from the public and private sector to discuss the latest developments in artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics. Ms Thijssen delivered a speech about the UNIDROIT Principles on Digital Assets and Private Law and the potential link with AI technologies, as part of a panel on “International Organizations and AI Regulation” moderated by Professor Alžběta Solarczyk Krausová. Ms Thijssen also mentioned other work of UNIDROIT in support of the global digital economy, including UNIDROIT’s recent project on Verified Carbon Credits.
