On 16 May 2024, the Italian Agency for Cooperation for Development (Agenzia Italiana per la Cooperazione allo Sviluppo – AICS) hosted UNIDROIT in its booth at the CODEWAY Expo for a focussed panel on how UNIDROIT instruments contribute concretely towards the Sustainable Development Goals. Participants heard from Legal Officer Giulia Previti, who presented the UNIDROIT project on Verified Carbon Credits and Senior Legal Officer Rocco Palma on the ongoing work UNIDROIT is conducting with the ICC Institute of World Business Law on International Investment Contracts. The panel was introduced and moderated by Deputy Secretary-General Anna Veneziano who also provided an overview of UNIDROIT’s long history of cooperation with Rome Based Corporate Agencies such as FAO and IFAD on Private Law and Agriculture, including tools such as the Legal Guide on Contract Farming, Agricultural Land Investment Contracts and the current project on Collaborative Legal Structures of Agricultural Enterprises.
