Professor Jeffrey Wool appointed Senior Academic Fellow at UNIDROIT

The UNIDROIT Secretariat is pleased to announce that Professor Jeffrey Wool was appointed the first Senior Academic Fellow under the newly founded UNIDROIT  Fellowship Programme.

His renowned contributions to transnational commercial law, generally, and to UNIDROIT, specifically, alongside his many other remarkable professional achievements, have led to the selection of his profile to inaugurate this new pillar of the work of UNIDROIT. His formal affiliation with UNIDROIT will greatly enhance the quality of the Fellowship Programme, as he has undoubtedly set a standard in terms of lending his expertise to the UNIDROIT community.

Professor Jeffrey Wool, J.D. (Columbia 1988), is the secretary general of the Aviation Working Group. He acts in that capacity on secondment from Watson Farley & Williams LLP, where he is senior global advisor based in their New York and London offices. President of the UNIDROIT Foundation, Jeffrey is an adjunct professor at Trinity College Dublin School of Law. He is a distinguished fellow at Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

He was professor of global business law at the University of Washington School of Law from 2011-2019, co-founding and co-directing its global business law institute and developing and teaching new courses on transnational commercial law, comparative commercial law, and international business compliance. He was a senior research fellow at Harris Manchester College, Oxford, and an affiliate member of the law faculty, University of Oxford from 2011 – 2023. He taught transnational commercial law jointly with prof. Roy Goode at Oxford from 1995 – 1998.
