September 13, 2022 - September 14, 2022
Event Navigation
This year’s conference will be held on Tuesday 13th and Wednesday 14th of September 2022. It will be held in Cambridge as an in-person conference, but also with the opportunity to join virtually for anyone who is not able to join in person. It will be at Robinson College, with the conference dinner at Gonville and Caius College.
In light of the current international context, the conference this year will focus on Public International Law and the Cape Town Convention. The programme will include contributions from leading international law academics and other experts, as well as discussion involving Cape Town Convention experts from all fields.
Topics to be discussed include treaty compliance surrounding events in Russia and Ukraine and the scope and limits to defences to treaty compliance generally. In addition, the interplay and the relationship between the Cape Town Convention and any other treaties (including bilateral investment treaties) will be covered, as well as legal recourse for violations of the Cape Town Convention, and interpretation of the Cape Town Convention in light of military and public health related developments.
Please save the date and await further information on the conference and instructions for booking.
We look forward to welcoming you in Cambridge (or online) for what promises to be yet another excellent and inspiring conference.
Yours Sincerely,
Professor Louise Gullifer Q.C. (hon) FBA
Professor Ignacio Tirado
Professor Jeffrey Wool
