On 15 November 2021, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between UNIDROIT and Roma Tre Law Department, aimed at strengthening the cooperation between two leading institutions in the promotion and advancement of legal sciences.
The signature of this Memorandum lays the foundations to develop joint research projects and to enhance the organisation of conferences and seminars, while promoting the knowledge of UNIDROIT’s work and strengthening the scientific research and the educational offer of Roma Tre in the field of uniform private law, both substantive and procedural.
UNIDROIT Secretary-General, Prof. Ignacio Tirado commented, “It is with great satisfaction that we welcome the signing of this agreement by UNIDROIT and the Roma Tre Law Department. It is entirely consistent with UNIDROIT’s policy of devoting special attention to the academic world, and it formalises the fruitful and important cooperation that has been established between the two parties for several years now, paving the way for future joint initiatives”.
Roma Tre Law Department Director, Prof. Antonio Carratta, expressed his appreciation for the signing of the agreement, saying: “The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between UNIDROIT and the Roma Tre Law Department represents an important step towards consolidating the collaboration undertaken for several years by the two institutions. Both engage to encouraging the organization of new educational and research initiatives on topics of common interest, particularly in the areas of civil and commercial law, both substantive and procedural. Through the signing of the Memorandum, the Department confirms its strong commitment towards the innovation and internationalization of its research, as well as of its teaching”.
The ceremony for the signing of the Memorandum, took place at UNIDROIT’s headquarters in Rome, and was attended by Prof. Maria Chiara Malaguti, Prof. Ignacio Tirado and Prof. Anna Veneziano (UNIDROIT President, Secretary General and Deputy Secretary General, respectively), as well as by Roma Tre Law Department Director, Prof. Antonio Carratta, together with Colleague Prof. Giacomo Rojas Elgueta.
