On 20 May 2024, UNIDROIT was invited to give a lecture (on-line, in English) on ART & CULTURAL HERITAGE LAW at the Fahrenheit Universities (University of Gdańsk – Gdańsk University of Technology – Medical University of Gdańsk – https://faru.edu.pl/en) by Prof. dr hab. Kamil Zeidler, Chair of the Department of Theory and Philosophy of the State and Law, Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Gdańsk. Prof. Zeidler is also a partner of the UNIDROIT Convention Academic Project.
After a short presentation by Prof. Zeidler, the session was chaired by Ms Paula Chmielowsk from the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Gdańsk and Ms Marina Schneider, Principal Legal officer and Treaty Depositary at UNIDROIT presented UNIDROIT’s instruments to fight against illicit trafficking in cultural property and the new Working Group on Orphan Objects, with a focus on Poland. The online lecture was also open for public from outside the University and was followed by an animated Q & A session.
